Film Festival

I really enjoyed the film festival and everyone else who watched the films were very pleased. They were very pleased with all the narrative films. I want to suggest for the evening film festival it should be mix with psa's, music videos, documentaries and narratives because period three didn't have any narratives.  I believe the audience enjoyed more the films that had plots and action.

Week of June 5

This week, we changed ideas and decided to do a short narrative. Andrea and I thought about a similar theme like how Brandon and Brain's group were filming during class. We filmed the third film and our editing.

Week May 29

This week, I was brainstorming for our third video. I analyzed the song and the message I wanted to portray, the message is somewhere between the lines of  "I love you, but you're better off without me, so move on".  I chose one of my favorite songs, Delta Spirit- California, although you encouraged  us not to do so, but this song has a very deep meaning which I want to share. Additionally, I'm wondering when we are going to pitch you the idea.

Week of May 22nd

We are finished with our third film,  and we are editing the story board because they are a bit different than we expected it. The third film should be a narrative, we're going to start filming next Tuesday. I'm concern because it's due the next day...

Week of May 15

This week we are done editing our second film! Hooray! Finally we can move on to the third film, but first we need to get it check.

Problems & Struggles

Every person in the world has problems; whether they want to face them head on or stray from them is another reality. Problems and struggles breed character. Looking in and witnessing my fellow peers struggles and not giving up motivates me to act the same way. I strongly believe that every experience there's something one learns from themselves, whether it's a positive trait or something one needs to improve on: there's gain knowledge.  Some people might disagree and say not all experiences have that effect, but I disagree because maybe that knowledge isn't crystal clear, but its still there.

Week of May 08

This week it was the usual trying to film the scenes again of the second video and finding new shots that are able to capture the meaning of the song. Regardless, waste of time if we used the same methods, obviously it wasn't effective the first time.

Week of April 27

This week we were finishing our second film. I also finished the story boards and we are editing the music.

Week of May 01 st

This week we thought we finished our second film. However, I had a premonition that the film didn't have a direct message and yesterday we got feedback that we need more shots which I definitely agree. Hopefully we are able to accomplish that and we are planning our third film which is a narrative!

Week April 10th

On the week of April 10 were were editing and filming our psa. As well as brainstorming our second video. We were filming the last scene of the psa and editing the voice-over because it didn't match the video, so we recorded the voice over until it was slow enough to match the paste as the video.

Week of April 17th

This week our group, New Era productions, recorded the last missing scene of the first film and were editing the voice over and scenes to match it as a whole. As we started our second film we are trying to use much of our resources as possible and will use a song to match the tone of our video.

Week of April 3rd

Dear whoever it may concerns,

We constructed and orchestrated our second idea of the film. We are in the process of finishing our film of our spa which is based on coming prepared to school. We are aware that are schedule is shortened due to AP reviews on Saturday, fly-ins for universities and senior events such as prom which for females is time consuming! Therefore, we made a seperate calendar we can take home where everyone writes the time and days we aren't available and what needs to get done that day.

What I accomplished this week...

Dear Readers,
This week in film class our group members (Nere, Nancy, Andrea, Sergio,Salvador and I) planned to do a PSA based on being prepared. The purpose of the message unfolds as we reveal to our audience the cause and effects of not bringing a pencil to school which drastically leads to other scenarios that make the audience see the importance of always being prepared or else you won't graduate or go to college. As we sketched out the storyboard we wanted to inform the audience that our video is an exagerated metaphor of being prepared is critical in life in order for people to comprehend the dominos effect!

What Music Means to Me

Music, is the rabbit hole to my Alice in Wonderland.
I feel that music takes me to places where you haven't been or makes you reminisce of the past. The artists opens up emotionally with their lyrics: some lyrics are to be in awe and other lyrics are effective because one can relate to it and say "Oh my gosh, someone understands!" Music, is art through the artists experiences, they share. I feel captivated by the beat, but most of all what the message that is to be shared. My preference of music is obscure, but I love it! I listen to Indie Pop or alternative rock or underground music that is gives me tranquility. My music ranges from Arctic Monkeys,
Delta Spirit, The Drums, Haim, The Shins, Lana Del Rey, Two Door Cinema Club, Bombay Bicycle Club, Saint Motel, Tame Impala, Beatles, Beach Boys, Guns N' Roses, Hanni El Khatib,  Imagine Dragons, Lorde, The Xx, M83, Mgmt, Milky Chance, Muse, Coldplay, Phoenix, Queen, Ritchie Valens, Small Black, The Turtles, The Jungle Giants, The killers, The Kooks, The Naked & the Famous, Empire of the Sun, Fitz & the Tantrums, Foster the People, Grouplove, grimes, Florence & the Machine, Jimmy Fontana etc.

Most Interesting Person In the WORLD!

Well, everyone is interesting in their own oddly ways and one person that embraces that is Astrid. I have known Astrid since second-grade however, we didn't get to really know each other since our sophomore year. Astrid is very hip and shockingly out going because most people would assume she's timid, but looks are deceiving indeed.  Additionally with her humble personality she has a wide range of music ranging from Indie pop to Reggae. Additionally, she is eco- friendly and down to earth and believes that this era of music is not as valuable as music that has profound such as the 1970's because now in days music is centered on sex, drugs, profanity and undermining women for their capability other than to just appeal to men for their bodies. The one quality I admire the most is her desire to do what she wants to do, no matter what people say, setting her mind to it.

MY ANTI-DRUGS

I have several anti-drugs which are playing tennis, writing poetry, and painting.
I have no curiosity trying any type of drugs because I feel that people use drugs as a gate away from reality. I feel that drugs slow your instincts and witnessing from several colleagues they don't have full control of their body.
I strongly feel that there's a time and a place to try new things, never the less it's critical for a person to feel comfortable with their decision without having to fall into peer pressure. This is an era where adolescents feel obligated to do certain things to fit into their society or want to grow up already and by doing drugs they feel empowered that they're maturing. I personally disagree with that life style because there's so many activities and non materialistic objects that don't need to fill that empty space that drugs try to "fill" in a short time of period, but it's still going to be there after the side effects go away. Bottom line, face reality and put yourself as your number one priority by taking care of your health.

An Inconvenient Truth

In Inconvenient Truth, through the use of emotional, ethical and logical appeal emphasizes the worldwide concern that can ultimately affect every spec of life span and it's the beginning of extinction.
Global Warming has been here for the past decade or so, and people are still skeptical even though there are red signs alerting the world that the climate and atmosphere are changing rapidly.  There's no doubt that there are certain people who would rather put a third blind eye on the situation and believe the world is rather flat.
This world wide dilemma is critical, yet scientists are still facing difficulties to get their research publicized and inform the world about what's really going on with the one home we have. Some nations are worse than others and ridicule scientists for their data and "false" theories. Never the less, it demonstrates that even great nations are terrified of this immaculate dilemma and would rather hide underneath their beds instead of confronting the situation. Why is it so challenging to hear the truth?
There are certain wake up calls that can contribute to decrease of global warming, however it's a worldwide affair that everyone, even you must take upon.
